The Hermiston School District announced that it will be able to serve meals to all children 18 and younger free of charge through Dec. 31.
Earlier thi week, the United States Department of Agriculture announced that Seamless Summer meal service operations have been extended through the end of the year, allowing the school district to continue serving meals at no cost to students.
Children do not need to be registered with the district to receive meals, and students will not need to show a lunch card.
Families may pick up meals at all school sites, on the following schedule:
- Monday 7:30 am-8:30 am – Breakfast
- Monday 11:30 am-12:30 pm – Monday Lunch & Tuesday Breakfast
- Tuesday 11:30 am-12:30 pm – Tuesday Lunch & Wednesday Breakfast
- Wednesday 11:30 am-12:30 pm – Wednesday Lunch & Thursday Breakfast
- Thursday 11:30 am-12:30 pm – Thursday Lunch & Friday Breakfast
- Friday 11:30 am-12:30 pm – Friday Lunch
On the first day of school, Tuesday, Sept. 8, the district will serve breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. Meal delivery routes will continue but with fewer centralized stops.
