Hermiston High School and the Hermiston School District will recognize the Class of 2020 with a special Honor Walk on May 29.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., HHS seniors will don their caps and gowns and walk in parade starting from the south side of HHS. The route will go west on Highland Avenue to Seventh Street, where it will turn north. Students will walk around West Park Elementary, and down Orchard, returning to HHS by 8:30 p.m. The Hermiston Police Department will shut down traffic on the route at 7:15 p.m.
Community members, friends, and family who would like to view and cheer from the neighboring sidewalks are welcome to do so. The district just asks that individuals do so safely, respecting social distancing guidelines.
Hermiston High School will culminate the event with a fireworks show from the Hermiston Butte, beginning at 9:30 p.m., for the greater Hermiston community to enjoy from the safety of their homes, car or sidewalk.
