Hermiston will host another large Knowledge Bowl tournament in November.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,at 1035 SE 9th St., Hermiston. The competition will have one written round, followed by three oral rounds, which will be open to the public.

“The Hermiston home team has put in the work to practice and study in preparation for this tournament,” said Hermiston High School Knowledge Bowl Club Advisor John Lauck. “Members exercise many different study styles in order to prepare. This may include using trivia sites, reading classic books, or personal study.”

Teams will be matched based on skill level. This format places elite teams against elite teams and beginner teams facing beginner teams. The team with the most accumulated points, throughout all four rounds, is declared the winner.

The Hermiston Knowledge Bowl Club will have up to four teams, made up of four to six students, participating on behalf of HHS. Upwards of 24 teams are expected to compete from at least 15 different schools.

“We hope to put on a good show for everyone in attendance,” said Lauck. “The community is welcome and encouraged to show their support at the event.”
