Hermiston to Unveil New Funland Playground on Fourth of July

The city of Hermiston and Parks and Recreation Department will unveil the completely rebuilt Funland Playground at a public ceremony on the Fourth of July.

The $1.75 million playground will be one of the largest, most engaging and inclusive playgrounds in the Northwest, built from fire-resistant materials to protect it for future generations.

Its construction was funded through community support and insurance payments from the previously destroyed playground.

What: Funland Playground Grand Re-Opening and Dedication

When: Sunday, July 4 at 1 p.m.

Where: Funland Playground at Butte Park, 1245 N.W. 7th St.

Cost: Free

Service clubs including Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions and others played an integral role in fundraising and development of the playground and will provide refreshments at the ceremony.
