Robert Roy “Bob” Allen of Hermiston died on Nov. 6, 2015 in Hermiston at the age of 63.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1952 in La Grande to Roy Lincoln Allen and Doris Minnie Green Allen. Bob was raised and attended schools in La Grande, graduating from La Grande High School in the class of 1970. He then served in the United States Navy during Vietnam until his honorable discharge. Bob lived in Portland for many years until July of 2015 when he moved to Hermiston, where he has lived since. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bob enjoyed trains, models, traveling, cooking, reading, going on drives and picnics, and most of all time with family.
He is survived by his brother: Wayne Allen, Umatilla, OR; sister: Vicky Dale, Umatilla, OR; nieces and nephews: Stacey Walchli, Holly Walchli, Jodi Hall, Chris Walchli, Cameron Walchli, & Cody Walchli; great nieces & nephews: Rachel, Jackson, Colby, Brooke, Matthew, Sydney, Aria, & Luke.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 850 SW 11th St., Hermiston.
Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Grandview Cemetery in La Grande.
