Bruce A. DeHaven of Hermiston and former longtime Irrigon resident, died on April 5, 2015 in Hermiston at the age of 73.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1941 in Nyssa to George and Edna Yardley DeHaven. He was raised and grew up in the Adrian area. Bruce lived in Eugene from 1968 until the mid-1980s. He worked for Georgia Pacific and later for Kiewit Pacific as a heavy equipment operator. He worked on many road projects throughout the Northwest. Bruce married Meredith P. (Hoover) Smith on April 25, 1987 in Reno, Nev. They moved to Irrigon and have lived in the area since. Bruce enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, the outdoors, and dogs. He was a cowboy and was very mechanically inclined with the ability to fix anything.
