Hermiston’s Darrin Bowling Passes Away at 51

Darrin W. Bowling died on June 9, 2017 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 51.

He was born on July 2, 1965 in Hermiston to Leonard and Barbara Quarles Bowling.

He was raised and attended schools in Hermiston, where he participated in baseball and marching band. He graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1983. He worked at Tum-A-Lum Lumber for several years and then at Payless Lumber, where he had worked since. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, watching sports and auto races, riding motorcycles, and tinkering with wood to fix almost anything.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Bowling, Hermiston; companion, Cheryl Gage, Hermiston; sisters, Carrie Norton, Hermiston, and Becky Coffiel, Pasco, Wash.; brothers, Mark Bowling, Port Orange, Fla., William Bowling, Hermiston, and Chad Bowling, Palm Coast, Fla.; daughter, Cassie Gage, Hermiston; son, Justin Gage, Pendleton; grandchildren, Devon, Miracle, Chloe, Emma and Bryson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Bowling, and sister, Barbara “Babbie” Bowling.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
