He was born on Dec. 30, 1929 in Wenatchee, Wash., to Merle and Alice Taylor Anderson. Dick was raised and attended school in Ketchikan, Alaska. While in high school he played in the Territory Championship Basketball Team. Dick joined the United States Air Force and served as a pilot in Vietnam and many other locations during his career including, 4 years as the ROTC Instructor at OSU in Corvallis. He was honorably discharged and moved to Corvallis where he worked in real estate for several years. Dick lived for 5 years in Vancouver, Wash., before recently moved to Hermiston.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
