Hermiston's Elathine Marlow Passes Away at 83

Elathine A. “Ella” Marlow 83, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2015 surrounded by her husband and children at her home in Hermiston.

She was born in Seattle to Guy and Alma Parke on Jan, 26, 1932. Ella was raised for a time in California before settling in Umatilla. She graduated from Umatilla High School in the class of 1950. Ella met Darrell “Vern” Marlow and they were united in marriage on Oct. 24, 1951 in Hermiston. They moved to Seattle where she earned her LPN nursing license and practiced for 20 years. They returned to Hermiston in 2010 where they have lived since.

Her faith was a very important part of her life. Ella was involved in various ministries in her church throughout the years. She was a member of Living Faith Church. Ella enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, and oil painting.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Darrell “Vern” Marlow, Hermiston; son, David Marlow (Darlene), Snohomish, Wash.; daughters, Joan Reeves (Barry), Hermiston, Natalie Journot, Hermiston; brothers, Richard Parke, Portland, Dale Parke, Hermiston, and George Parke, Cascade Locks; sisters, Janice Brewer, Illinois, Marilyn Schiller, Echo, and Nettie Lukovich, New York; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Bill, Guy and Ira.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Living Faith Church, 1611 Diagonal Road in Hermiston.
