Gregory W. C. “Greg” Hoffman of Hermiston died on Feb. 5, 2016 at Kadlec Region Medical Center in Richland, Wash., as the result of an accident at the age of 53.
He was born on June 12, 1962 in Hermiston to Jerald and Jody Schwab Hoffman. Greg was raised and attended schools in Hermiston, Oregon where he competed in baseball and football. He graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1981. Greg worked construction in Seattle, Washington for a few years. He spent most of his life in Hermiston, Oregon. Greg married Robin Gorman on September 30, 1996 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He worked at J&M Manufacturing for several years and later at the Umatilla Chemical Depot and most recently as a truck driver. Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the mountains, playing pool, and riding his motorcycles. He was the neighborhood Dad, building a rec room in the garage for the kids to hang out. Greg was very supportive of his children’s activities. Greg always strived to make others happy and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife: Robin Hoffman, Hermiston, OR; children: Trevor Hoffman, Hermiston, OR, Shaun Hoffman, Seattle, WA, Nicole Hoffman, Seattle, WA, Sierra Hoffman, Hermiston, OR, Niki Counsell Barteschek, Colville, WA, and Justin Counsell, Hermiston, OR; father: Jerry Hoffman, Hermiston, OR; brothers: David and Jesse Hoffman, both of Hermiston, OR; sister: Debbie Hoffman, Hermiston, OR; grandchildren: Dayton, Justus, Paige, Taylor, Jaki, and a grandson expected soon.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Jody Hoffman.
