John Douglas Lowe, 79, of Hermiston, died on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at his home in Hermiston.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1936 in Delta, Colo., to William T. Lowe and Frankie Crawley Lowe. John was raised and attended school in Delta, Colo., graduating from Delta High School in the class of 1954. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict until his honorable discharge when he returned to Colorado. John worked as a regional agent supervisor for American General and Southland Insurance Companies. He also operated DTD Outfit in Delta, Colorado, guiding for 25 years. John lived in Kenai, Alaska from 2008 until 2013 when he moved to Hermiston where he has lived since. In Hermiston he worked for Wal-Mart and Home Depot. John was an avid trapshooter, fisherman, guide & outfitter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frankie & William Lowe; and a daughter, Judy K. Lowe.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Lowe of Hermiston; brother, Bill Lowe & wife Barbara of Salt Lake City, UT; niece: Tami and Luke Owen; nephew Debbie and Doug Lowe; grandchildren: Sabrina and Tony Hyland & Andy Golden; great grandchildren: Sophia, Ryan, & Piper.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the New Hope Community Church at 1350 S. Highway 395 in Hermiston.
