Nancy Ann Carrillo of Hermiston died on Oct. 25, 2016 at the age of 87.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1929 in Brownsville, Pa. to Claude and Edna Davis, and was raised in Fayette City, Pa. In 1948 she attended Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio where she met and married her husband of 53 years, Fred Carrillo. Together, Nancy and Fred lived throughout the west including California, Utah, Colorado, Texas and Oregon before settling in Spokane Wash., in 1971. In Spokane, Nancy was involved with the Compass Club, the Women’s Mining Association and the Spokane Symphony. Fred and Nancy then, retired to Reno Nevada where they enjoyed traveling with the Reno Friendship Force. They moved to Hermiston in 2003 to be closer to family. Nancy was a member of the United Methodist Church, PEO and bridge clubs. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge, loved cooking and entertaining for family and friends and will be missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Wood & her husband Tom, Hermiston, Carol Freitag & her husband Bill, Renton, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Hannah, & Derek.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carrillo; her parents; and her sister, June Ellingsworth.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hermiston.
