Noe D. “Tio” Valdez of Hermiston died on Dec. 11, 2016 in Richland, Wash., at the age of 69.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1947 in Mexico to Tomas Valdez and Severa De Leon. Noe was united in marriage to Lupe Alvarado on Jan. 20, 1968 in Mexico. They moved to Othello, Wash., where they lived for a short time before settling in Hermiston in 1971 where they have lived since. Noe has owned and operated Valdez trucking for many years. He enjoyed music, dancing, barbecues, trips to Mexico and Texas to see family and friends. Noe cherished his time with his family and loved family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife: Lupe Valdez, Hermiston, OR; sons: Noe Valdez Jr. And TJ Valdez, both of Hermiston, OR; daughters: Betty Arriola and Lisa Garcia, both of Hermiston, OR; brother: Santiago Valdez, Othello, WA; sisters: Oralia Ramirez, Hermiston, OR, and Santos Garza, Othello, WA; 7 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Noe was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Valeria Valdez, and brother Horacio Valdez.
There will be viewing on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at Burns Mortuary Chapel from 1 to 6 p.m. for family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 775 W. Highland Ave., Hermiston.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
