Hermiston’s Ruth Karm Passes Away at 85

Ruth Karm of Hermiston died on Nov. 7, 2017 in Pendleton at the age of 85.

She was born on April 27, 1932 in McMinnville to R. Lee and Frances Lannon Wade.

Ruth settled in Umatilla County in 1956, where she had lived since. She worked as a benefits administrator for the state unemployment office for many years. She loved reading, gardening, and going on sightseeing drives in the car. Ruth cherished spending time with her family. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a kind, quiet, sweet spirit.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel Baisley and his wife Lynnette, Happy Valley, Terry Baisley Sr. and his wife Leslie, Redmond, David Baisley and his wife Fran, Hermiston, and Michael Baisley and his wife Aida, Pendleton; a daughter, Raissa Cook, Pendleton; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Karm; and brothers, Don, Bill and Dave Wade.

A graveside funeral service was held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
