Shirley Faye Elliot died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at her home in Hermiston at the age of 77.
She was born July 19, 1939 at Huntington to Dwight Stark ane Gladys Dorothy (Smith) Lockett.
Shirley was raised in Huntington and graduated from Huntington High School.She attended a secretarial school for 1 year. She met her future husband, Donald Ray Elliot at the Snake River Stampede Rodeo where she was a princess and they were married April 6, 1958 in Ontario, Oregon. They moved to Hermiston in 1966. Shirley was a homemaker and was the secretary for the Hermiston Gun Club for many years. She enjoyed all sports especially football and she loved rodeo especially bull riding. Her family loved her cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Ray Elliot in 2009.
She is survived by son, Bret (Renee) Elliot of Hermiston, OR; daughter, Renae Martin of Pendleton, OR; siblings, Maxine Winebarger of Hermiston, OR, Dwight “Chip” (Lela) Lockett of Huntington, OR, and Darlene Lockett of Hermiston, OR; grandson, Austin Bret Elliot of Hermiston, OR.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Viewing for family & friends will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston from 1 to 3 p.m.
