Deputy Superintendent Wade Smith of the Hermiston School District is a finalist for the Walla Walla School District superintendent position.

The other finalists for the job are Helena, Mont., Superintendent Kent Kultgen and Everett School District Assistant Superintendent Molly Ringo

The three finalists will be in Walla Walla for follow-up interviews beginning Feb. 29.

Current Walla Walla Superintendent Bill Jordan is retiring June 30 and his successor will take on his duties July 1.

The Walla Walla School Board will hold public forums for the public to meet with the candidates, all from 5 to 6:15 p.m. in the district’s boardroom at 364 S. Park St. in Walla Walla:
