The Hermiston Bulldogs girls basketball team advanced to the 3A Hardwood Classic after topping the Everett Seagulls on a buzzer beater Saturday, 53-51.
Izzy Simmons scored the game winner at the buzzer shortly after tying the game with a layup.
The No. 11 seed Seagulls led for most of the game before going cold down the stretch.
Simmons, a freshman guard, scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter as the No. 14 seed Bulldogs closed the game on a 9-2 run.
The Bulldogs will advance to next week’s 3A Hardwood Classic and will face No. 6 seed Kelso in a first-round matchup.
