The Teen Advisory Council of the Hermiston Public Library will host the award-winning Hermiston High School Jazz Band at a special Saturday, May 18 concert at 6 p.m.

The concert will take place in the library’s newly renovated, downstairs Lanham Room. Students from the Jazz Band will play an assortment of jazz arrangements, including a crowd favorite, “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.”

The Hermiston High School Jazz band took third place in its division at the 2013 West Salem Jazz Festival. It took second place in 2012.

The Hermiston Public Library Teen Advisory Council is comprised of teens in grade six through 12 who meet at least once monthly to participate in fun activities as well as discuss, plan, help promote, and participate in library programs. They assist in developing the library website, help select library materials, and serve as a voice for teen interests.
