If you have any hatches, you might want to batten them down. High winds with gusts up to 70 mph are forecast for the Lower Columbia Basin this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a large Pacific storm system will make its way across the interior of the Pacific Northwest during the weekend, bringing sustained winds up to 45 mph with gusts between 55 and 70 mph.

To make things even more interesting, there is a 60 percent chance of rain today and a 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday. The good news? Temperatures should be in the 50s throughout the weekend. Low temperatures are expected to remain above the freezing point throughout the weekend, before dipping to 32 degrees and below Monday night. Patchy freezing fog is forecast for early Tuesday morning and late Tuesday night, but the sun is expected to peek out by mid-week.
