Hermiston’s Edith Holt was named the 2016 Gwladys Brewster Outstanding Altrusan at the District Twelve Altrusa International Conference held recently in Bend.
Holt has been involved in the creation of two major projects for the Hermiston Altrusa Club. The first was planning and developing the Altrusa room at the community Agape House. She also spearheaded the renovation of the Lanham Room at the Hermiston Public Library. Both of these rooms are used extensively by the community for classes, gatherings, meetings, library activities, and church services.
According to her fellow club members, Holt’s commitment to the club is never ending. Whether it is organizing workdays, helping with the Kids Backpacks project – which supplies weekend food for needy kids – blood drawings, or the annual Grade Girls Night In, Holt is always there.
