Howard Salmon died on Oct. 20, 2013 at his home in Boardman at the age of 82.
He was born on June 10, 1931 in Litchfield, Ohio to Frank Salmon and Pearl (Deetz) Salmon. Howard was born and raised on the family farm in Ohio. Howard was the loving Christian husband to Winifred (Stine) Salmon. On the day that he died they had been married for exactly 61 ½ years. Shortly after his first three children were born he relocated his young family to California. After 11 years in the San Francisco Bay area and the addition of two more children, he moved his family from the city to Wallowa County, back to the rural life style he loved. For the past 38 years, he has lived in Boardman.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his five children, Judy, Bonnie, David, Kathy and Steven; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor; and brother, Rich.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joan.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Boardman.
