Members of the Hermiston Police Department will be conducting overtime patrols during the Labor Day holiday specifically targeting impaired drivers.
The department received a grant to conduct the extra patrols from Oregon Impact, an organization that provides educational information and experiences in order to put an end to impaired or distracted driving injuries and deaths. For more information, visit oregonimpact.org.
The additional patrols begin today and continue through Sept. 7.
HPD reminds the public that DUII can also apply to other (legal and illegal) drugs besides alcohol.
