HPD Investigating Apparent Suicide at Hermiston’s Belt Park on Monday

Hermiston police are investigating an apparent suicide that occurred Monday, Oct. 9, in Belt Park.

Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston said at approximately 2:54 p.m. officers responded to Belt Park, 705 W. Pine Ave., on a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers arrived and found a 31-year-old female with a head wound, he said. Medics pronounced her dead shortly afterward, he added.

Edmiston said Hermiston Police Department is investigating the case as an apparent suicide and the family has been notified.
