The following are highlights from Monday night’s Hermiston School Board meeting:
- The board received a building update from Sunset Elementary School Principal Erin Andreason and her leadership team on how the team is leading the staff and students in achieving its mission to be “a community equipping each other for success in our next learning adventure.”
- Wenaha Group Senior Project Manager Scott Rogers provided the monthly bond projects update, commenting on construction for the elementary school projects, design work on the Hermiston High School classroom addition, and district-wide upgrades.
- The board was supposed to hear a presentation on Bullying & Behavioral Management; however, the speaker could not attend. This topic has been postponed to the May special meeting on May 23.
- The board discussed its plan to update the district’s strategic plan: Vision 2025. The board will schedule a special meeting/retreat during the summer to begin the process.
