The Hermiston School District will hold a pair of community meetings this month to hear from the public on the future of the district.
“As we consider carefully what Hermiston schools are to become in the future, we need to hear your voice,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Fred Maiocco.
With the help of staff, administrators, and the Board of Education, the district has begun work on Vision 2025: the course HSD intends to chart for the next 10 years.
The first community meeting, hosted by Maiocco, will be at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9. The second meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Both sessions will be held in the Hermiston High School auditorium. The meetings will provide an opportunity for the public to discuss the past, present, and future of the district.
A brief survey will be available for community members to provide input into the process of creating the district’s new strategic plan. The survey will be available to the public Oct. 9-31 and accessible via the district’s web site.
