Interstate 84 and U.S. 395 are now open in eastern Oregon.
Crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation worked through the night and into this morning to get the routes open, but heavy snowfall and blizzard-like conditions made the effort challenging. The roads were opened just before noon today.
Also open are U.S. 30 and OR 245 in Baker County, and OR 204 in Umatilla and Union counties. These routes were closed to freeway traffic seeking detours around the freeway closure. OR 74, however, is closed between mileposts 62 and 83, west of Nye Junction (junction with U.S. 395).
Continue checking TripCheck.com or call 511 / 800-977-6368 for updates conditions. Outside Oregon, call 503-588-2941. Do not blindly follow GPS navigation devices/apps for detour options, as many other routes are impacted by the winter-like weather.
