Madril replaces Casey White-Zollman, who recently took a position as vice president of communications at Blue Mountain Community College. Madril will serve as the public information officer for IMESD and component school districts, working with them to coordinate their communications. Madril will also manage crisis communication responses, communicate inclement weather and delay notifications, and serve as the liaison between IMESD and area news media.

“Michele brings a wealth of experience in public relations and communications to our region,” said IMES Superintendent Mark Mulvihill. “Due to her involvement as a parent and substitute teacher, she effectively networked with the school community, as well. We believe she is a great fit for our organization.”

In her previous marketing and public relations career, Madril worked in advertising, magazine writing, television production, and nonprofit organizations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Texas. For the past six years, Madril has been a substitute teacher in the Pendleton School District and for five years worked as Director of Christian Education and Family Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Pendleton.

“I am excited to return to the communications field, and I look forward to the opportunity to share about many different aspects of education through my new position at IMESD,” Madril said.
