Inland Northwest Musicians’ 25th Season Crescendoes on June 22

The 25th anniversary season of the Inland Northwest Musicians crescendos with its final concert on Saturday, June 22, 3 p.m. at the Hermiston Community Center, 415 S. Highway 395.

The performance includes the Inland Northwest Orchestra and the Inland Northwest Chorale, under the direction of R. Lee Friese and Phillip Simpson. The program includes “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin with guest artist Bill McKay, “Serenade to Music” by Ralph Vaughn Williams and “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copland.

The concert is sponsored by the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation, the city of Hermiston’s Transient Room Tax fund and Alice Massey, an INWM founding member. Admission is free, however, donations are accepted. A reception with punch and cookies will follow the concert.

Founded in 1999, Inland Northwest Musicians includes a full symphony orchestra, a chorale and a youth/preparatory orchestra. In addition, string instruction classes are offered in Hermiston and the surrounding communities. Its mission is to provide free music to rural audiences.
