An Irrigon driver was injured early Tuesday when he rear-ended a semi-truck on Interstate 82 near the Umatilla Bridge.
John M. Thorp, 59, of Irrigon, was driving a 1995 Honda Accord in south toward Umatilla when he collided with a 2014 Freightliner semi-truck traveling the same direction at 5 a.m. near the Highway 14 interchange, the Washington State Patrol said.
Thorp was taken to Trios Health and was in good condition, the Tri-City Herald reported. The truck driver, Gary L. Holloway, 72, of Selah, was not injured.
WSP cited Thorp for following too closely.
