He was born on Dec. 8, 1946 in Pendleton to Boyd and Evelyn Gordon McKinney. Doug was raised in Umatilla County. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge when he returned to Oregon. Doug worked in residential construction in Eastern Oregon for many years before settling in Hermiston in the mid 1980s. He enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing, and his dog “CC”. Doug cherished the his time with his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Cow Pa.”
Doug is survived by his daughter: Geneva Timpy and her husband Andrew, Irrigon, OR; sister: Billie Jo Gollyhorn, Hermiston, OR; brother: Steven Asher, Bend, OR; grandchildren: Jessica and AJ; great grandson: Jacoby; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Eveyln Warrington.
A private family celebration will be held.
