Marlene Ann Winchester of Irrigon passed away in Hermiston on Feb. 1, 2018 at the age of 86.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1931 in Sulphur Springs, Ark. to Baxter and Lorene Gailey Mills.
Marlene lived in Sulphur Springs throughout her childhood, where she attended school and graduated from high school. She married Harold D. Winchester on Dec. 23, 1950 in Gravette, Ark. In 1956, the couple moved to Nyssa, where they resided until 2000. They moved to Irrigon in 2000 to be closer to their family.
Marlene enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and doing crafts. She enjoyed volunteering at the Nyssa School District, where she would read stories to the children. She attended Columbia View Community Church in Irrigon.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harold; brother, Joe Mills; grandchildren, Marc Schilling, Lori Smith and Matt Schilling; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Schilling; a son, Gary Winchester; a brother, Buddy Mills; and a sister, Marilyn Mills.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at Columbia View Community Church, 1230 E. Highway 730, Irrigon.
The family suggests memorial donations in Marlene’s memory to the Columbia View Community Church.
