It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Jean Deisch announce her passing after a long illness on Sept. 22, 2016 at her home in Irrigon.

Pat was born in The Dalles on April 13, 1931. She was raised on a ranch in High Prairie, Wash. Pat was a lifelong animal over, often riding her horse to school. She graduated as valedictorian from Lyle, Wash. During her first marriage Pat lived in many places throughout the United States as the family moved for construction jobs. Pat settled down in Hood River where she met the love of her life, Chester Deisch. Pat was known for her kindness, generosity and wonderful personality. She cared for many seniors as an adult family facility owner in Hood River and Hermiston. Pat enjoyed helping others. She was so proud of all the staff that assisted her in caring for the seniors in the facilities. They all became family to Pat.

Pat was also a cattle rancher, raising, buying and selling cattle. Pat was very proud of her small herd of cattle.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents, William and Madeline White; and brothers, Robert and William. She is survived by her brother, Donald; children, Robert Oneal (Gail), Vicki Wilson (Douglas Drew), Peggy Oneal, and Otto Byers Jr. (Sandra). Pat has many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Mallory, Craig, Kayla, Matt, and Holly, as well as several great-grandchildren.

Pat was surrounded with love from her family and friends, as well as her dear friend and caregiver, Steve Russell.

A private burial will held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in The Dalles. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Church of the Nazarene in Hermiston and will be announced at a later date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Vange John Memorial Hospice, 645 W. Orchard Ave, Hermiston, 97838.
