Patty Brown

Patricia Susan “Patty” Brown of Irrigon passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on Feb. 2, 2018 at the age of 63.

She was born on March 13, 1954 in Wilmington, Del. to L. Wayne Feehly Sr. and Betty Magaw Feehly.

She was raised in Elkton, Md. and graduated from Elkton High School in 1972. Her heart’s desire was to be a wife and mother. She met the love of her life, Martin L. Brown Jr., in 1972, and they were married on Jan. 27, 1973. In 1979, they moved to Oregon. They lived in Boardman for a short time before settling in Irrigon. Patty worked at Lamb Weston for many years before moving to Florida. In Naples, she started working for a local school district as a food service worker. She loved working with the students and seeing their smiling faces. She enjoyed going to the beach after work, swimming and sitting in the warm sun. Patty loved the ocean and being outdoors. A favorite hobby was going shopping with her friends and family.

In 2004, they moved back to Irrigon to be closer to their grandchildren. Patty continued to work as an assistant cook at Riverside High School and later as a head cook at Windy River Elementary. She truly loved working with children.

Patty was a 38-year member of Irrigon Assembly of God (now Family Worship Center, FWC). While living in Florida, she was a member of Golden Gate Assembly of God. Her accomplishments are many, but her most treasured role other than that of wife and mother was serving her Savior. She volunteered in many areas of church, including nursery worker, café worker, treasurer and youth group leader. She faithfully loved others for Jesus. Patty was also a member of Christian Motorcycle Association. She loved to ride motorcycles with her husband and friends, sharing Jesus with others.

Her hobbies included hiking, boating, fishing, camping, spending time with family and working with FWC youth.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Martin L. Brown Jr.; son, Marty (Jennie); daughter, Wendy (Jim); grandchildren, Marty, Kyle, Cody, Ashley and Katelyn; father, L. Wayne Feehly Sr.; brothers, Lawrence (Myrtle) and Michael; sisters, Peggy (Frank) Heverin and Colleen (Joe) Norman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Feehly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the following organizations: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Vange John Memorial Hospice, or the Family Worship Center youth.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Family Worship Center, Irrigon.

Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Irrigon.
