Vicki grew up in Umatilla (Class of 1968), having lived in Irrigon for the past 30 years. She was an avid NASCAR fan, and her favorite first-love was NASCAR driver, Bobby Labonte. She was an avid collector of Labonte memorabilia, and an expert on the subject. She was a long time member of the Irrigon Moose Lodge, and for many years she owned Vicki’s Video in Irrigon. Vicki worked for 10 years in Boardman at Gourmet Foods, and was quite the farm-wife in her younger years. She cared for her blended family of 7 children and farmed for several years, raising animals and crops enough to “put-up” for winter stores. Vicki loved to bake bread and cook good, old fashioned food enough for an army. She won a number of potato-salad contests locally, with her own special baked-potato recipe.
Vicki Englander loved to laugh and put folks at ease. She loved music and she loved people. The world is short one beautiful smile these days, and it’s left a little vacant spot in all of our hearts. Rest in Peace Sister- Mom- and Friend. Save us a good seat on the other side!
Her ashes will be scattered over her favorite beautiful place in the Blue Mountains.
