Irving A. “Irv” Uitto of Umatilla died on Aug. 12, 2020 in Hermiston at the age of 85.
He was born on March 9, 1935 in Mount Vernon, Wash. to John and Olga Wilen Uitto.
Irv was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., graduating from high school in 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1960. Irv was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lynne McCoy, on June 15, 1974 in Hermiston. He worked for Campbell Motors in the auto body shop until he retired. They moved to Blake Ranch outside Heppner for several years and then to Umatilla in 2013, where they have lived since.
Irv enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynne Uitto, Umatilla; son, Richard Uitto and wife Mel, Avondale, Ariz.; daughters, Gina Phillips and husband Glen, Hermiston, Jodi Uitto, Walla Walla, Wash., Dawn Uitto, Westport, Wash., Teri Schaber, Ione and Kelley Teske, Walla Walla, Wash.; sister, Julia Kerger, Sedro-Woolley, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Irv was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Uitto; and a sister, Ida Jensen.
A private family burial will be held at the Sunset Hills Cemetery, Umatilla.
