Jack Urban Duffee Jr. of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on April 27, 2019 at the age of 83.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1935 in Chicago, Ill. to Jack Sr. and Elizabeth Grosall Duffee.
Jack grew up and attended his schooling in Chicago, Ill. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany and served for over two years. After his honorable discharge, Jack began his career as a machinist in Southern California. He worked as a machinist for Hydro-Aire in California for many years until retiring in the early 1990s. He moved to Hermiston in 1993, where he had resided since.
Jack was an avid canoeist, a sharpshooter, an artist and jewelry maker, a collector of antiques, a carpenter and jack-of-all-trades.
Jack married Karen Holiday on July 14, 2001 in Hermiston.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Dawn Rome and Danielle Conran; grandchildren, Anthony Rome, Kyler Barton and Jada Rome; five great grandchildren; and brother, Tom Duffee.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Cameron Rome; a sister; and a brother, Jim.
A private family ceremony will be planned at a later time with burial in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
