He was born on Aug. 2, 1971 in La Grande to LeRoy C. and Patricia Fontaine (Bean) Mason.
James attended school in Portland. He served in the U.S. Army as a Spc/E4.
James is survived by a son, Brandon Mason; significant other, Sunshine Hornych; his parents, LeRoy and Patricia Mason; sisters and brothers, Evelyn (Donald deceased) Patterson, Darlene F (Marty) Schmid, Eileen L (James) Daniel, Robert L McCubbins (deceased), Malinda G (Shawn) Prendiville, Michael C (Julie) McCubbins, Brian A Lippincott, Jim D Mason and sister-in-law Sue Mason, Candy Emery; grandparents, Roy and Vivian Mason and Clifford and Beatrice Bean; aunt Sharon Lawrence, uncle Richard (Linda) Bean; numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request no memorial service, private family viewing only.
