James Earl “Jim” Swanson Jr. died on Nov. 9, 2014 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 51.
He was born on May 27, 1963 in Walla Walla. He was raised and attended school in Hermiston. Jim was united in marriage to Julie Cahill on October 5, 1981 in Richland, Wash. He managed Rick’s Car Wash on Main Street in Hermiston for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, football, sports, 4-wheeling, and the outdoors. Jim cherished the time spent with his family and enjoyed attending the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julie Swanson, Hermiston; daughters, Amie Vandecar (Josh), Hermiston, and Jamie Richmond (Adam), Irrigon; son, Travis Swanson (Karen), Plover, Wisc.; grandchildren, Meekah, Carrson, Hunter, Meckenzi, Kara, Ezekiel, Kylie, Miranda, and Kaylee; mother, Rosemary Wilcox, Hermiston; brothers, Howard Swanson, Prosser, Wash., and Stephen Swanson, Kennewick, Wash.; sisters, Becky Swanson and Roberta Swanson, both of Arkansas; nd several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene.
