Janice Arsenault

Janice Marie Arsenault of Umatilla passed away on June 15, 2019 in Umatilla at the age of 44.

She was born on July 25, 1974 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Janice was an avid community member. She was a volunteer firefighter at the Umatilla Rural Fire Department, where she was a Wildland Firefighter Type 2, EMT Basic, and driver-operator. Additionally, Janice would regularly volunteer for various charity events in the community, and was always willing to lend a helping hand with a big smile on her face.

She was also a student at Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC) campus in Hermiston, where she attained her General Education Development (GED) and was working towards her Associate of General Studies (AGS) degree. In addition, Janice worked full time as an office specialist at BMCC, where she was known for keeping up morale and motivating students. In Janice’s spare time, she enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, singing, playing the fiddle, bedazzling everything and anything, and having fun with dear family and friends. Anything Janice did, she always gave 110 percent. Janice would always follow her heart no matter where that took her, and she loved as big as the personality she had.

She is survived by her mother, Irene Arsenault; sons, Canion Dudley and Christopher Remakel; daughters, Kelsie Arsenault and Haley Dudley; brothers, Richard Arsenault and Daniel Arsenault; sisters, Paulette Dufloth and Colette Arsenault; and “grand-puppy” Gunther.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Gavin Arsenault.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Hermiston High School commons, 600 S. First St.
