Juanita “Janie” Erevia of Irrigon died on May 8, 2021 in Richland, Wash. at the age of 79.

She was born on June 21, 1941 in Brownsville, Texas.

A woman with a kind heart is how she was known by many. Juanita was a beautiful soul, inside and out. Always a humble woman who put others first, even if it meant she would go without.

Juanita loved spending time with her family, especially with her children and grandchildren who all adored her. Another favorite time spent with family was her yearly travels to Arizona during Easter to visit her mom (deceased), siblings and relatives. Juanita’s inability to drive did not keep her from going places she wanted to go or from doing things she wanted to do.

She was a proud woman who always gave thanks and was grateful for what she had. She was not only a woman of God, but an amazing cook, hardworking, thoughtful, gave the best hugs and definitely had a green thumb. If you ever visited her home, you knew how passionate she was about her yard and her roses. If Juanita could not be reached by phone, you knew she was outside doing what she loved most while listening to her radio, working on her yard with some favorites from Juan Gabriel, Vicente Fernandez and Ramon Ayala.

She spent countless hours outside, even those after an eight-hour shift. She was a diligent woman who lived a life filled with love and purpose.

She will be missed but is now in a better place, joined by those who are waiting her arrival in heaven.

A private service will be held. For more information, please contact granddaughter, Janie Erevia or son, Joe Erevia.
