The Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center in Hermiston will be the site of the Jasmine Strong 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 4. The fundraiser will benefit the family of Jasmine Ellwood, a local teen who is battling a serious illness. She’s the daughter of Hermiston police officer Mike Ellwood.
The Hermiston Police Association and other organizations and businesses in the community are hosting the event, which begins at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $10 per person at the gate, or free with an online T-shirt purchase. Food and drinks will be provided for those who attend.
EOTEC is located at 1705 E. Airport Road. For more information, contact Tim Miears at 541-561-4165 or tmiears@hermiston.or.us. To learn more about Jasmine’s story, visit the Jasmine Strong Facebook page.
