Jean McCutchen Passes Away at 90

Jean Alberta McCutchen passed away on March 21, 2018 near Hermiston at the age of 90.

She was born on July 22, 1927 in Hollenberg, Kan. to Albert and Amy Walburn Pelser.

As a child, Jean lived near Walla Walla, Wash. and attended school in Milton-Freewater, graduating from Milton-Freewater High School in the class of 1945. She moved to Chehalis, Wash. in the mid-1950s, where she worked as a secretary for Darigold. She moved to Hermiston in the mid-1960s, where she had resided since. She worked as a secretary for the city of Hermiston and Good Shepherd Hospital. She married Wayne Edward McCutchen in 1968 in Hermiston.

Jean enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia (Randy) Moulton and Janet (Rob) Merrill; son, Jim (Jean) Laufer; grandchildren, Jeff Gallon, Dhru Merrill and Nick Merrill; and great grandchildren, MacKenna and Liam Gallon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
