Jennifer Reed died on Aug. 6, 2023 at her home in Hermiston after a 1 1/2-year battle with cancer at the age of 65.
She was born in Taber, Alberta, Canada on May 10, 1958 to David and Kay Stevens Reed.
She grew up in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada, as well as various places in Idaho, Nevada and Oregon. Jennifer graduated from Burns High School.
Jennifer never married but adopted two boys, Alex Martin Reed and Steven Edward Reed. She worked as a speech therapist in Umatilla County from August 1987 until June 2015. Since retiring she enjoyed traveling, quilting and gardening. She loved helping others when possible. Jennifer helped coach Special Olympics for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Alex Reed and Steven Reed, both of Hermiston; mother, Kay Reed, Logan, Utah; brothers, David Reed (Carrie), Morgan, Utah and Cam Reed (Meridee), Logan, Utah; sisters, Judy Ogden (Billy), Trenton, Utah and Carrie Walker (Joe), Salt Lake City, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, David Reed and a sister-in-law, Traci Reed.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 850 S.W. 11th St., Hermiston.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
