Joe Issel Passes Away at 46

Joseph V. “Joe” Issel died on Sept. 12, 2023 at his home in Kennewick, Wash. at the age of 46.

He was born on April 5, 1977 in Hermiston to Lee Carl Issel Sr. and Patricia Ann Rogers Issel.

Joe was raised and attended schools in Hermiston, graduating from Hermiston High School in the class of 1995. He started his career as an apprentice plumber and worked his way up to a journeyman plumber. Joe worked at Hanford for several years before owning and operating his own plumbing business.

He was an avid fisherman, never without a pole and tackle box in all of his vehicles. Joe also enjoyed hiking, mushrooming, gold panning, playing pool and family gatherings.

He is survived by his mother, Patty Issel (Jim Raymond), Hermiston; son, Garrett Issel, Kennewick, Wash.; brother, Lee Carl Issel II, Irrigon; sister, Angie Issel, Hermiston; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his father and a step brother, Randy Johnson.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.

  1. I had the good fortune to work with both Joe and his step brother Randy. Besides being great workers they were great men. They were very loved by their workmates. We always looked forward to story time with Joe and Randy. I was very saddened to hear the news today. RIP Joe and God bless your family!
