John Cambell, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov, 22, 2014 in Hermiston at the age of 78.
John was born July 23, 1936 in Xenia, Ohio to John and Marie (Green) Cambell. He was raised in Boys Town, Neb. He served eight years in the military. He worked as an appliance repairman for several years. John was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a civil war history buff.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances Cambell; children, Charles Cambell, Garnet Vermillion, Mary Cambell, John Cambell, James Cambell and Joe Vermillion; brother, Bill Cambell; sisters, Mary Johnson and Ruth Grimm; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John &and Marie Cambell; brother, Jim Cambell; sister, Ruby Cyphers; and grandchild, Sarah Cambell Vermillion.
A private family graveside funeral service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Stanfield.
