John Emilio Marquez of Hermiston passed away with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer on Oct. 29, 2022 at the age of 65.
He was born on March 10, 1957.
“John’s zest for life and acclaimed kindness will be remembered with love long after his passing.” The simplest pleasures in life, such as feeding his backyard birds, tending to his rescue dogs, gardening, watching UFC and MMA with his sons and working the family business all brought the greatest joy to John. He cherished his family.
Much of the community will remember John from his work with Marlette Homes or later from Umatilla Cab and Hermiston Taxi, which he owned and operated with his wife Sundi.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sundi; their three sons, Jacob, Joshua and Jared; and two daughters from John’s first marriage, LeeAnn and Natalie.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Ave.
