John D. Schuening of Echo passed away on Aug. 27, 2017 in Hermiston at the age of 61.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1956 in Dayton, Wash. to Fred and Mary “Willadeane” Greatorex Schuening.
He was raised and attended schools in Pilot Rock and later Stanfield, where he graduated in the class of 1974. He and Donna Lang lived for several years in Turner before moving to Echo in 2014, where they have lived since. John enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and collecting things.
He is survived by his son, Jason Schuening, Flagstaff, Ariz.; longtime companion, Donna Lang, Echo; sister, Jana (Dan) Kenshol, Hermiston; brothers, Ron (Nelda) Schuening, Palestine, Texas, Randy (Marion) Schuening, Pilot Rock, Jerry (Debbie) Schuening, Stanfield, and Kris (Julie) Schuening, Umatilla; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family gathering will be held.
