Joni L. Gaylord died on Nov. 29, 2022 at her home in Hermiston at the age of 64 with her beloved, Warren Rood at her side.
She was born on July 12, 1958 in La Grande to Dale and Doris Gaylord.
Joni attended school in Hermiston, graduating from Hermiston High School in the class of 1976. She then attended Eastern Oregon College before returning to Hermiston and graduated from Hermiston Beauty School and began her career as a beautician.
Joni loved animals, especially horses. She belonged to the Umatilla Sage Riders, where she had been on the court as a princess. Growing up, she spent lots of family time in the mountains around Meacham riding trail bikes and hiking. Joni and Warren enjoyed spending time together watching ball games.
She is survived by her daughter, Kaci Gaylord (Anthony); son, Joseph Gaylord; mother, Doris Gaylord; sister, Dorene West (Chuck); brother, Joe Gaylord (Jody); companion, Warren Rood; grandchildren, Andrew and Aubrey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father.
