Josette M. Webb of Hermiston passed away at her home in Hermiston surrounded by her husband and children on Dec. 9, 2023 at the age of 76.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1947 in Saint-Gervais-les-Trois-Clochers, France to France and Madeleine Guerin.
Josette grew up and attended school in France. She met Louis “Bob” Webb who was serving in the U.S. Army, and the couple were united in marriage in France on Jan. 21, 1967. The couple moved to Hermiston soon after they were married, where she had resided since.
Josette worked for Dr. Clark who was a dentist in Hermiston for several years when her children were young. After her children were raised, she went back to school to receive her teacher’s certification at Eastern Oregon University. She received a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish and a master’s degree in education in the early 1990s. She taught French and Spanish at the Hermiston High School for many years, retiring in 2009.
Josette’s passion was travel and she loved to go to new places across the globe, as well as returning often to her native France. She also enjoyed going camping, fishing and hunting with her husband, Bob and spending time with her family, especially family get-togethers.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob; children, Mike (Melissa) Webb, Fred (Julie) Webb and Bobbie-Jo (Chad) Robertson; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister (all living in France); and many extended family members across the United States and France.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.
