Julia M. Schneider of Hermiston died on June 30, 2024 in Hermiston at the age of 95.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1928 in Orafino, Neb. to Clifford and Julia McCarl McMichael.
She was raised and attended schools in Nebraska. Julia was united in marriage to Raymond R. Schneider on Jan. 11, 1947 in Norton, Kan. They moved to Hermiston in 1948 where she had lived since. Julia was a stay-at-home mom, raising her children and caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, sewing, tole painting, flowers, cooking, baking, playing ten thousand, watching hummingbirds, her soap operas and her favorite movie, “Pure Country.” Julia cherished time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Schneider, Umatilla; daughter, Debra Hulen and her husband Dennis, Hermiston; brother, CJ McMichael, Hermiston; sister, Ruth Fisher, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gary Schneider; a daughter, Karen Hall, three granddaughters; and eight siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
